Susan began her early professional life in performance and Management in the ‘arts, entertainment and film world’ as ballerina, manager, stage manager, continuity, production assistant, teacher, dresser, performer with: New Zealand Ballet Company, Wellington City Ballet Co., Sadlers Wells Ballet Co., Borovansky Ballet Co., Australian Opera Company, Australian Ballet Co., Fred Astaires, Arthur Murray’s., Graham Jennings Production (T.V.).
After a year in India working as Liaison Officer for ‘Raphael’ a Ryder Cheshire foundation for Leprosy,TB, Destitute and Dying, Susan returned to Australia where she continued her Nursing training to the level of Nurse Consultant and gained her Member of the College of Nursing degree – MCN.
Many years of study at the University of Sydney saw her achieve her BSc. (Hons), MSc, Medical Science and PhD with a research thesis ” studying cells as biomarkers” using Electron Microscopy. Her work produced more than fifteen international research papers. as a post doctoral Fellow at the University.
Her private passion is reading and writing poetry and she was awarded Commended in the National Literary Awards 2014 for her first book of poetry Beside Rivers seen here.
